Proton, HM in talks to assemble cars in India

Malaysian national car maker Proton Holdings Bhd is close to tying up with Hindustan Motors for a contract manufacturing agreement to assemble their cars for the Indian market. 

According sources, the decision is likely to be announced end-February . Proton is in talks for using HM's Chennai plant—set up for assembling the Mitsubishi Lancer—to locally produce its multi-purpose vehicle Exora

The next generation Swift Dzire based on the all-the new Suzuki Swift platform will have a length of less than 4 metres, according to sources in Maruti. This will allow the future Dzire to qualify as a ‘small car’ and attract only 10 percent excise duty instead of 22 percent for larger cars like the current Dzire which is 4160mm long.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2012 facelift revealed

The 2012 Mercedes Benz C-Class has been revealed with a new four-cylinder engine added to the range. The new models will have a minor facelift and the interior is upgraded as well. Performance-wise it offers more power and better fuel economy than its predecessor.

Suzuki SX4 sedan gets facelift, to be in India with diesel mill by next year

The facelifted SX4, with a diesel mill as an option, can be launched in India by next year. In 2010 Guangzhou Auto Show, Suzuki showcased the facelift the SX4 sedan. The facelift gets on a new grille with four chrome bar design, a new front bumber with more flat design, a new air intakes, a set of new headlamps, 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels and more.The rear design too has been reworked and seems sharper than the present model.

Hyundai Verna 5-door revealed in China

Hyundai has revealed the new 5-door body style Verna model at the Ghangzhou Motor Show in China.
The 5-door Verna was developed exclusively for the Chinese market and will go on sale there early in January. 
The Chinese market Verna will be built locally at a plant in Beijing. It will come with two petrol engines - a 1.4 liter and 1.6 liter.
